The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Climate Gathering will bring First Nations experts, leadership, youth, women, knowledge keepers and other professionals to work on the most urgent crisis of our time – climate change.

The Gathering will offer an opportunity to explore First Nations solutions in the face of rapid change. The climate crisis is inseparable from the daily experience of First Nations. This National Climate Gathering will focus on First Nations perspectives on climate change. This will allow attendees a better understanding of how the climate crisis is accelerating and exacerbating existing challenges (e.g., biodiversity loss), so they can then discuss solutions in a multi-dimensional, interconnected, and interrelated way. For First Nations, a healthy environment connects to everything – health, well-being, cultures, languages, water, food security, and housing, among other things.
