Ethan LaVallee is a proud citizen of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council (TKC) and belongs to the Dakl’awedi Clan of the Teslin Tlingit Council (TTC), following the Matriarchal system. Within TKC, Ethan represents the Wolf Moiety.

 

Born and raised in beautiful Yukon, Ethan has deep-rooted connections to the land and its people. A few years ago, he transitioned from being a TTC citizen to a TKC citizen, a decision giving him the chance to live in his traditional territory—an opportunity he holds with immense gratitude.

 

Currently, Ethan serves as a Business Analyst with Da Daghay Development Corporation, the development arm of his First Nation. He also serves as a Youth Council Member for the TKC Youth Council. He sits on the Indigenous Youth Advisory Board for the EleV program, which is working to support 100,000 Indigenous youth across Canada by 2030. Through these roles, Ethan is dedicated to creating opportunities for Indigenous youth, helping them gain the skills, connections, and experiences needed to build successful futures.

 

As the Yukon Male Youth Representative on the National Youth Council (NYC) with the Assembly of First Nations (AFN), Ethan is passionate about ensuring Indigenous youth have access to spaces where their voices are heard and valued. He works to connect young people with leadership opportunities, conferences, and mentorship programs—empowering them to dream bigger while staying grounded in their cultural identity. As a youth representative with the AFN NYC, As a youth representative with the AFN NYC, Ethan’s portfolios are the Self-Government Agreements and Modern Treaties Committee and the Economic Development Chiefs Committees.

 

With a deep sense of responsibility and humility, Ethan remains committed to advocating for Yukon’s Indigenous youth and building a future where they can thrive in all aspects of life.
